Accelerated Graphics

Although it seems that you can get reasonable results with the standard X drivers, the proprietary ATI driver prvides support for accelerated graphics needed for some applications like Google Earth and Stellarium. Thanks to the folks at Livna, installing the ATI proprietary driver is now just a matter of a simple yum command.

Note that as of kernel 2.6.18 using the proprietary ATI driver breaks hibernate/resume. I haven't been able to solve that (but see the Fedora Core 6 report).
